How Our Apprentice Program Works
Apprenticeship (4 years) and traineeship (2 years) programs combine paid work experience with Host Employer Honeywell, while working towards a nationally recognised qualification at trade school.
Honeywell apprentices and trainees will be employed through MEGT’s Recruitment and Management Services program which ensures a support structure is in place. MEGT will be on-hand to support apprentices and trainees throughout the program, both on the job and at trade school.
During the program, apprentices and trainees will spend their work week learning at a range of Honeywell commercial sites and completing their qualification during work hours.
Apprentices and trainees will be trained by industry-leading technicians in a range of Honeywell products. Honeywell technicians are responsible for ongoing service, maintenance and upgrades of automation systems and some mechanical areas such as chiller/plant room equipment. This provides apprentices and trainees the opportunity to work across a range of facilities including manufacturing plants, hospitals, hotels, casinos, correctional facilities, office buildings, museums, airports and train stations.
Learning and Development
In additional to MEGT and Honeywell supporting you in gaining your qualification, we also offer in house training to support ongoing career development. In addition to your qualification we encourage all our employees to complete a minimum of 40 hours training each year. For more information about our learning and development visit our Careers page.
