Be Healthy, Live Well

Your physical and behavioral health is important, and Honeywell gives you ways to care for both.

Medical / Rx

Two national medical insurance carriers – Cigna or Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, which have the same medical plan design. Some markets may offer additional options. Choose what’s right for you. When you enroll in medical coverage, you may be eligible to open a health savings account (HSA) that lets you save tax-free for medical expenses now and in the future. The money in the account is always yours.

You automatically receive prescription drug coverage when you enroll in any Honeywell Medical Plan. Prescription drug expenses count toward the Honeywell Medical Plan’s annual deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. Except for certain preventive medications, you pay the full cost of prescriptions until you meet the annual deductible.

Support if you need surgery

Considering surgery in the near future? Or maybe your doctor has recommended surgery?
Knowing your treatment options and accessing the right information is crucial. Honeywell provides Surgery Decision Support  (SDS) to help you understand your diagnosis and the effective treatment alternatives you may want to consider. The choice is yours to make—Honeywell simply wants to help you make an informed decision.

Enroll in SDS before you undergo a hysterectomy, knee replacement, hip replacement, lower back surgery or weight-loss surgery. When you’re facing surgery, there is often more than one effective treatment option. Yet, many patients are presented with only one choice.

The SDS program is confidential, and personal health information is not shared with Honeywell. If you do not complete the SDS program within the 30 days prior to a planned procedure, you will pay $1,000 more at the time the claim(s) for the procedure are processed. The penalty does not apply in emergency situations.

Biometric screening

One in three adults has high blood pressure. Ninety-five million adults have high cholesterol. About half of American adults are obese. A biometric screening gives you a snapshot of your health — and possible risks — that you and your doctor can use to create a game plan to prevent potential health problems.

What is a biometric screening?

It's a short physical exam and blood test offered onsite at many Honeywell locations, by your doctor during your annual wellness check, or through a Quest Diagnostics Patient Service Center.
Your biometric screening will include blood pressure, cholesterol, non-fasting glucose, height, weight and waist circumference, and a nicotine test to screen for tobacco use. Your individual biometric screening results are not shared with Honeywell.

Your personal health information (PHI) is always confidential. Your PHI will never be shared with anyone at Honeywell. And your screening results will never impact employment decisions.

Flu shots

Get a flu shot, not the flu. The Honeywell Medical Plan covers flu shots at 100 percent. Schedule yours with your provider or participating pharmacy. Just present your medical ID. The best time to get a flu shot is before flu season starts. But you still have time to get one — and reap the benefits.

Simple everyday steps can make a big difference:
•    Wash your hands often with soap and water.
•    Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
•    Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
•    Stay away from crowds when the flu is prevalent in your area.
•    Practice healthy habits: Get plenty of sleep, drink lots of water, eat healthy foods, exercise regularly and manage your stress.

TRICARE — supplement insurance for retired military

Honeywell employees who are also retired military members may qualify for TRICARE supplement insurance. TRICARE supplement insurance can help pay for out-of-pocket expenses, including deductible, co-payments, coinsurance and the cost of prescriptions.

You and your spouse may be eligible for TRICARE supplement insurance if you’re:
•    Eligible for TRICARE insurance
•    Not eligible for Medicare
•    Age 65 and younger
