Recruitment Privacy Notice


​​​​​​​This Privacy Notice describes how Honeywell International, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively “Honeywell”, "us" or “we”) process your personal data for internal and/or external recruiting-related activities in compliance with all applicable data protection legislation (the "services"). We are the controllers of your personal data for the purposes of applicable data protection laws.

Please note that if you are already a Honeywell employee then you have already been informed about the processing of your personal data for recruiting purposes in your Employee Privacy Notice. However, the aim of this notice is to give more detailed information regarding such processing.

1.    WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT
We collect your personal data from a variety of sources, including information we collect from you directly, for example when you apply for a particular job vacancy through our website /portal or, in case that you already are a Honeywell employee, during your employment relationship, and information we collect about you from other sources such as LinkedIn, Google, Facebook, Twitter (to the extent that such information is publicly available and as allowed under applicable laws).
Please bear in mind that if you choose not to provide the information necessary in order to process your application, we may be unable to process the same.
1.1    Personal data we collect directly from you 
The categories of personal data that we may collect directly from you include: 
a)    Personal details and contact information (e.g., first name, middle name, last name, EID, photograph); 
b)    Talent, recruitment and application details, education and training details (e.g. details contained in letters of application and resume/CV, previous employment background and references, education history, professional qualifications, language and other relevant skills);
c)    Work and work history (e.g. description of current position, title, work history); 
d)    Career Preferences (e.g. Short-term and Long-term goals, willing to relocate, date available to relocate, location preferences, consider for job opportunities).
1.2    Personal data we collect from other sources
The following are examples of the categories of personal data we normally collect from other sources:
a)    Publicly available information about you from LinkedIn; 
b)    Basic information about you (e.g. name, EID, email) provided by a Honeywell employee in order to give us your reference for an open job. In this case, the Honeywell employee will be the one responsible for obtaining your consent for providing us with your personal data;
1.3    Other personal data we process about you
We may also collect other personal data about you, such as:
a)    Personal data derived from your participation in our recruitment process, such as, for example, those obtained during interviews, the emails we exchange with you regarding your application or the conversations we have with you through our online Chatbot.
b)    Information we collect automatically from you, such as data collected using cookies and other device identifying technologies in our application website. For further information about the cookies we use on the website through which you submit your application, please see our Cookie Policy available at the bottom of our web page.
1.4    Special categories of personal data
We do not require you to provide us with sensitive personal data unless it is necessary for the purposes of carrying out our obligations or exercise of specific rights according to legal and regulatory requirements, or unless you have provided your explicit consent in accordance with local legislation. For example, we may collect certain sensitive data to accommodate any disability you may have. 

2.    WHY WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We use and subsequently process personal data we collect about you for the purposes identified below:
a)    To evaluate your application in relation to a particular job vacancy. Please note that the processing of certain personal data about you is necessary in order to assess your recruitment, comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements and in order to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. Where the recruitment process results in an employment, a new notice will be provided to you;
b)    To conduct 'profiling' about your fit for particular job opportunities. This involves using a matching algorithm that is able to evaluate your employment profile and predict your eligibility for a particular job vacancy. We carry out this automated processing for the purposes of:
(i)    making you personalized job recommendations based on your preferences; and
(ii)    helping recruiters match candidates against job opportunities by suggesting candidates for consideration for a specific job opportunity. Recruiters (i.e. ultimately there is no automated decision making as the ultimate decision is always made by the recruiters).
Please note that based on this profiling, you may not be considered for certain job opportunities unless you have applied for them directly. 
c)    To carry out aggregated reports / analysis regarding candidates’ activity data (e.g. career site traffic, candidate funnel, source of hire, recruiting campaign success).

By accessing our website / portal and/or applying for one of our job positions, you provide your consent to Honeywell to collect and further process the personal data described above for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice.

However, if you are a resident of the European Economic Area ("EEA") Honeywell will rely on its legitimate interest to process your personal data for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, except that Honeywell will rely on your consent provided by selecting the relevant tick box to be considered for future openings to assess your fit for particular job opportunities. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

3.    WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
Honeywell will only share your personal data with third parties under the following circumstances:
a)    Honeywell group entities. We will share your personal data with other group entities for evaluating your profile and having it be considered for any recruitment processes opened on a group level.
b)    Service providers. Honeywell may specifically share your personal data with third party service providers that have been selected by Honeywell to perform specific data processing activities in the context of the services (mainly, recruitment and outsourcing staffing providers). Such third parties may vary depending on your country and will change from time to time but may include Phenom People, Inc., Cornerstone OnDemand Inc., and their respective third party providers.
c)    Other third parties. Honeywell may share your personal data only if required or authorized to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal requirements or with legal process served on us, to protect and defend our rights or property or, in urgent circumstances, to protect the personal safety of any individual.

4.    HOW LONG DO WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We will retain your personal data in accordance with Honeywell's Records Management Schedule based on applicable jurisdiction and, once the relevant retention timeframe has elapsed, only as required for the potential initiation or defense against legal and/or contractual actions and for the duration of the relevant statute of limitations of such actions under applicable laws.

5.    YOUR RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
You may have certain rights with regards to your personal data. If you are a resident of the EEA, the rights described below may apply to you. If not, the rights that apply to you will depend on the laws of your country of residence. We will facilitate your exercise of the rights that apply to you in accordance with applicable law.
a)    To know how we are processing your personal data and to access to your personal data held by Honeywell (right of access);
b)    To request the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete personal data (right to rectification);
c)    To request the erasure of your personal data when, among others, such data is no longer necessary for the initial purposes for which it was initially collected, in accordance with applicable law (right to erasure);
d)    To restrict our processing of your personal data, under certain circumstances (in which case we will only retain the personal data for the exercise and/or defense of our rights) (right to restriction of processing); 
e)    To object to our processing of your personal data, having regard to the given circumstances and for reasons related to your particular situation (in which case we will only retain the personal data for imperative legitimate reasons or the exercise and/or defense of our rights) (right to object); 
f)    To request the portability of your personal data, which will allow you to obtain and reuse the personal data in a usable electronic format for your own purposes and across different services without hindrance to usability, including its transmission to another third party (right to data portability);
g)    To withdraw the consent you may have granted to a specific processing, at any time; and
h)    To make a complaint to the competent data protection authority.

6.    INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL DATA
Bearing in mind that Honeywell is a global organization, any of your personal data may be transferred to, held, stored or used across various locations worldwide. Some of these locations include third countries outside of your country or residence, including, but not limited to, the United States, Russia, India, in accordance with applicable law. Please be aware that the privacy protections and legal requirements, including the rights of authorities to access your personal data, in some of these countries may not be equivalent to those in your country of residence. However, Honeywell will always take reasonable steps to protect your privacy and to provide a level of protection of personal data that is comparable to that of your country of residence.
If you are resident in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), we would like to make you aware that we take steps to ensure that all transfers of personal data outside the EEA and Switzerland are lawful. Such data transfers are normally subject to prior execution of EU Standard Contractual Clauses, although we may rely on other legal mechanisms for the transfer of personal data outside the EEA or Switzerland from time to time.
